Some fella named Sean Nolan was called up to pitch for the jays tonight. Anyone know anything about him? At first glance his minor league numbers look pretty good..

It's spelled Nolin in case people can't find him. He's one of our top pitching prospects after all the trades this offseason. I suppose they think he's ready, but then again with the Romero and Ramon Ortiz above him on the pecking order it doesn't really say much that they think he's ready for the show, even if on a brief audition. It would take at least a couple starts before I'd even bother stashing him.

EDIT: Fangraphs article on Nolin from a few days ago.

in a league where I have been grabbing every rookie getting the call ahead of time, Cingrani, Burch (at least I never started him) and now Gausman, I think based on that fangraphs article I'd have to pass

Ramon Ortiz warming up. Yikes.

Nolin is leaving everything belt high.

Looks like a strong case of Burch Smith syndrome
