The Mariners seem to have a problem developing talent. Montero was probably overrated to start but who's the last hitter the M's have had come through their system?

the Mariners sent down catcher Jesus. they also called up catcher Jesus, wait, what?

Mariners purchased the contract of C Jesus Sucre from Triple-A Tacoma.
Sucre, 25, has a .302/.371/.321 batting line in 14 games as a part-time Triple-A catcher. Mike Zunino still needs development time, so the Mariners are promoting Sucre to replace the struggling Jesus Montero.

well im sure you know that Montero didnt come through their system, so its not a fair statement.

Adam Jones, as mentioned before, and Kyle Seagar isnt horrible. Nick Franklin is supposed to be pretty good.

Pitchers, they have the King, they had Pineda, and Fister.

But your point remains.

how many top prospects have the Mariners had that have produced at the major league level with them?

with catcher Jesus Montero going down to the minors to play 1B/DH it reminds me of another catching prospect they had that couldn't last at catcher, and who couldn't hit in the majors. Jeff Clement. Seattle better hope that the same thing doesn't happen with Montero.

if Montero is going down to play 1B/DH, should he be expected back anytime soon? I can't see him back anytime soon. not unless there is an injury. Seattle seems pretty covered at 1B/DH with Smoak and Morales.
