The man CAN hit. That was never in question. The problem is three- fold in my eyes.
1. he is switching leagues. Never easy. just ask Griffey, Alomar, Mo Vaughn, Frank Robinson (ok, maybe not him).
2. he has an incredible injury history.
3. That staff is as hard throwing, and wild as it gets. He is sure to play through more bruises than ever this year. He will also be busy trying to teach these guys how to pitch. This is the least concern, but will be a factor nonetheless.
He has just caught too many games to be considered a sure thing anymore.
NL only leagues stretches things pretty thin, but I would think injuries could kill your chances.
If he gets 450 AB's, I would give him .290 18-20 HRs 70-75 RBIs 10SB (everybody runs on that team).
Not bad, but a risk I wouldn't like to take.
