Fire sale, do I buy?

Postby guyincognito » Wed May 22, 2013 12:52 am

Guys in my league are very quick to throw in the towel and since we are only allowed to make three draft pick trades per year teams who feel like their team is going nowhere try to land those draft picks before the bidding war at the trade deadline begins. I'm currently tied for first place overall @ 6-1 however, the team I'm tied with just traded away his first round pick for Harvey, Chapman and Hunter. A second team is declaring a fire sale looking for a first round pick as well, and he has Verlander, Price, C.Allen, A.Gordon, A.Cobb as the players of interest. Would you send a first round pick to acquire any combo of these guys, or stand pat and let someone else make the move? (And by first round pick it's actually a 3 rd rounder since we keep 2 players)

*he also has Seager who I could try to get grown in to cover 2B while Kinsler is out.

14 team, H2H, Keeper League (keep 2)
B Cats: Avg, E, H, HR, OPS, R, RBI, SB
P Cats: W, L, K, QS, ERA, WHIP, HD, S

C - M.Wieters
1B - P.Konerko
2B - A.Amarista
SS - T.Tulowitzski
3B - E.Longoria
OF - M.Holliday, S.Choo, Y.Cespedes
DH - L.Berkman
U - S.Victorino
Bench - T.Frazier, B.Moss, I.Kinsler
SP - CC Sabathia, C.Sale, J.Peavy, H.Kuroda
RP - J.Papelbon, J.Nathan, D.Robertson, T.Scheppers, L.Gregerson
Bench - J.De La Rosa, J.Chacin, , A.Cashner
DL - R.Madson, Beckett

Wow, that is quite the package for a "3rd" rounder....if he got that I wouldn't hesitate to dump a pick or 2 to get gordon, verlander and allen.....good luck
