The Orioles seem to have about as much success with their prospect pitchers as the Mariners have with their young batters! Maybe they should join forces to have the ultimate sucky young team.

That easily goes to the Royals.

It's been 2 starts. Let's not write the guy off yet.

LOL From superhero to bum in two weeks. Should know by now you can never predict short term performance. He will probably come out and pitch shutout against Tigers!

It's not that it's been just 2 starts... It's all the warning signs. The lack of strikeouts, got killed by a team struggling to put runs on the board and the overall ugliness of his upcoming schedule.

I'm not saying he's a good pick up for this year. I'm saying that we shouldn't call him a busted prospect yet.

Poor Orioles fan... not a single pitching prospect has panned out in recent memory and now the savior himslef, Dylan Bundy is on the shelf with multiple visits to Dr. Doom, and Gausman has shown he is just no match for MLB hitters.

I think this thread has prematurely reacted to 2 starts.

Here's a link to a youtube video with some Van Halen because I tried 10 different ways to get it to show up and it never worked in the preview window. His release point looks identical but he could be tipping his secondary pitches in another way. His fastball is pretty straight so that doesn't help even if it's 95+mph.

Tillman has panned out, Bundy has been cleared to throw, Gausman has had 2 starts and is far from a bust, and most importantly, we're 8 games over .500. It's a pretty good time to be an O's fan if you ask me.

You can't judge any prospect based off of their first season, most people don't come up and dominate right away. I hope you don't play in any keeper leagues with that mindset. There are Cy Young winners who had a bad first season, does that mean they didn't work out?
