Closers needed!

Postby cws5887 » Tue May 21, 2013 10:12 pm

I have been offered Rafael Betancourt and Tom Wilhelmsen for either Chris Sale, Yu Darvish, or Adam Wainwright. Do I consider this at all? I already lost 2 closers for the season and only have one on my active roster. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Clint

Depends. I would consider Sale if all 29 closers and the top 10 potential closers were all owned. Otherwise, keep an eye on any chink in the armor in a closer and pounce on the potential replacement.

All closers are owned. This is a 10 team Roto League with 2 RP spots and 4 P spots on our rosters. I would have to trade if I ever wanted a closer unless I got lucky being the fastest to the wire on a injury!

In a 10 team league, there is no way all potential closers are owned. Look at some pitchers who may lose the job soon and pick up some setup men (right now, Cishek already lost his job; AJ Ramos may be the name in the long run). Heath Bell will not last; see David hernandez. I like Kyuji Fujikawa instead of Kevin Gregg. Kenley Jansen, but that seems too obvious. Huston Street will get hurt at some point this summer.

If Jansen, Fujikawa, Hernandez, and Ramos are all owned, maybe you think about considering a deal like this. Still no, but maybe.
