Marte Trade Value WHIR

Postby fish72292 » Tue May 21, 2013 6:14 pm

I am in a ten team 23 man roster 8 player keeper league. I have a good offense and a decent pitching staff but some injuries have hurt me. I need a more stable pitcher to trade for then just steaming pitchers since we only get 5 adds per week. I am looking to trade Starling Marte because I think his average is going to drop a ton and think he is a Cameron Maybin player at best. Of the following starting pitchers who would you take for Marte.

Patrick Corbin (seems like sell high for a buy high)
Matt Garza (I like him especially he might get traded)
Alex Cobb (Same as Corbin)
Tommy Milone (not crazy about him)
Brandon Morrow (hes kind of eh right now)
Yovani Gallardo (like him to bounce back)

Yeah I agree you should go Garza, however I do really like Cobb and how he pitches and the way he carries himself in a game, but you should go Garza first. I might take Cobb first, but that is me and I really like the guy, but if Garza does get traded then that could be real nice.

Thanks for help on mine, I told the guy to call me when he thought I was not a compete moron and his next offer seemed decent if you dont mind looking at the thread again, its posted above your post, thanks, funny thing is its for the guy I told you I would take, but I do need a closer..

I also agree with you on what you said about Marte being like Maybin, you may want to wait to see how Garza does first since its been a while since he pitched, but as you said you could get him at the better price unless the owner has been waiting on him a while. Sorry for seeming indecisive about the two but its because I am.

I like Garza the best, but I don't think I'd trade Marte straight up for him.

I'd take Corbin, Cobb, Garza in that order. I also have marte and like him, kinda up in the air with what I think the rest of the season looks like for him, but if you need pitching I would definitely do it for any of those three.

Cobb, Corbin, Garza. Try to get more for Marte though. He is not Maybin; he will not keep up this average but he will not hit .240 either.

Help with mine:

Thanks for help on mine.
For those SPs, ROS I think I'd rank them Cobb, Garza, Corbin. I think Marte is a good sell high, but he's better than Maybin. I'd think you could at least get an OF back with any of them. Maybe not Corbin because of his numbers, but realistically I doubt he keeps that up.

No way I don't want Garza, he's an average starter, I don't see how a trade jumps his value. Corbin or Cobb both have been pitching well, still could do a little better.

Gallardo is the choice.

Most upside out there, he's frustrating in that he can have really bad outings, but there are certain teams that have his number if you look (St Louis being one). If you avoid those starts he can be boarderline #1 starter.

I think you can get more than Gallardo for Marte. Marte is for real probably top 75 player now.

Please help with my question.
