Pujols as a utility add - a value opportunity

Postby gpordie » Tue May 21, 2013 12:32 pm

I am in a 12 team H2H league and have a superb(on paper) hitting offense
C - Wieters
1 - Goldschmidt
2 - Zobrist
3 - Zimmerman
SS - Rollins
OF - Kemp, Bautista, J Upton
Util - Harper and Profar
Bench - Scutaro, Myers, and Eaton

I have an opportunity to trade Zimmerman and one of my pitchers (Cobb) for his Pujols and a pitcher of less pedigree than Cobb more than likely - will try for Gallardo or Iwakuma but will be offered less I am sure.

I dont have a true 3B to replace Zimmerman - can slide Scutaro over or pick up Frazier.

Just leave things alone and keep my team intact? Or is Pujols too big of a potential prize to not try to get?

well theres the rub - in our league we have a 100 transaction cap and guys just load up on pitching and no team hardly has more than the 10 starters for hitters - we had 12 SPS picked in the first 3 rounds - 3 in the 1st round. Me, I waited until the 9th with Garza as my 1st pitcher taken.
Anibal Sanchez
Garza
Buchholz
Tim Hudson
Detwiler
Hughes
Cobb
Griffin
McCarthy
Hellickson
Hanson
Odorizzi
w/ Beachy and Daniel Hudson on the DL

we have holds counted and I have 2 for that but didnt pick any closers for saves

Not your everyday normal league but its all of us mostly who work together and have been together for years.
