Punting saves - does it work? WHIR!

Postby Zain1two3 » Mon May 20, 2013 6:28 pm

Phelps next four starts are against the Rays, Mets, Cleveland and Seattle - all winnable games. Should I do the crazy thing and pick him up and drop Sergio Romo? before you answer, here is my situation, i'm second to last in my 12 team h2h and i only have one closer now anyway. is this strategy (punting saves) going to work?

In roto - no you don't punt saves
In h2h - I wouldn't punt saves either, but I'd you can be strong enough in other categories I guess you could. If its a 1 win week it's better, otherwise you're losing 1 point automatically every week if it's not

Sergio romo - why would you consider dropping him? Trade the guy! Tons of value with him. In a package deal even more potential value.

But, I wouldn't punt saves to be honest, it's an easier category to win if you have the RP. Even though u don't have right now you still could acquire from the waiver wire or a smaller trade for cheaper RP. Especially since this is h2h it's not like roto where you will be too far behind. U go week to week, so you don't have to worry about being behind. You don't have to punt them, and romo as a #1 RP for you is a plus to build around
