Huge Miguel Cabrera Trade, WHIR

Postby FANattic86 » Mon May 20, 2013 3:25 pm

12 team league 5x5 h2h

I got offered Kershaw/Strasburg/Hamels for my M. Cabrera/Encarnacion

C-Perez
1B-Encarnacion
2B-Kendrick
3B-Cabrera
SS-Segura
OF-Rios, Aoki, Beltran, Pagan, Bourn
UTIL-Donadlson, Moreland
DL-Hill, Reyes

SP-Darvish, Cain, Cahill, Ryu, Wilson, Maholm
RP-Betancourt, Grilli, Perkins, Janssen

Should I accept? My offense is stacked but my pitching needs improvement, but will my offense carry me without Cabrera and Encarnacion?

this isnt refering to you personally. this is just a generic statement...if anyone trades miggy, regardless of the haul, they should be slapped and excommunicated from the fantasy world.
my personal opinion is they should be jailed, fined, and forced community service upon them. trading him is not only a sin, but it should be banned by the constitution!
...in nicer terms...no way jose ;-D

A) Agree with the above sentiment.

B) Not like he's offering you an absolute killing. While Kershaw & Strasburg are obviously for real, Hamels has looked bad overall, AND this guy's also asking for EE? PASS.

Right now your offense is pretty balanced. Good on both power and speed, especially with Bourn back. Trading Miggy and EE would kill your power. I dont agree with the other two posters though, anyone is tradeable, even Miggy if the price is right. If hes willing to give up these three pitchers then maybe you can get more.

Id want a big bat in the trade so you arent losing so much power, someone like adam jones or jay bruce. Like a really good 2nd tier guy. Maybe Kershaw, Strasburg and a big bat?

Be patient with Cain. He will turn things around. If you trade away Miggy & E3, you will drop significantly in your offense.

I dont think your pitching is bad enough to trade Miggy. If you really want a solid SP, you can try trading E3. But I don't think you need more than that.

When Hill comes back your offense will be set.
Maybe float Reyes name out for a decent SP.
No way can you deal both E5 and Miggy Cab for that and you don't even have any legit replacements for them.

E5 you can't really trade you don't really have a legit replacement for him either. About the only thing I see you can do is package Aoki or Beltran (or deal a closer) with maybe Ryu and shoot for a better SP. I doubt it works though.

It's tempting when you look at the SP names he's offering you, but there's no way you can accept that. I never like dealing a stud hitter for a stud pitcher - - and ESPECIALLY not when you're talking about the best hitter in baseball by a landslide.

I think you're overestimating your power and underestimating your SP. Cabrera and E5 are the only guys that are a serious power threats of 35+ HRs. Power is just too tough to find - - and there's a TON of SP depth. Leverage your excess at SS when Reyes gets back if you still need SP then.

I'd appreciate feedback on mine...
