Use #1 waiver priority on BJ Upton? WHIR

Postby footballisbetter.com » Thu May 16, 2013 8:38 pm

BJ Upton was dropped in my 10 team h2h daily league. Should I burn my #1 waiver priority on him? I would probably drop Betencourt, as he seems to be fading now.

My team:
C- C Santana
1B- B Butler
2B- Kipnis
3B- Prado (2B, SS, 3B, OF)
SS- Tulowitski
MI- Rutledge (2b/SS)
CI- F Freeman
OF- B Harper
OF- J Upton
OF- CarGo
OF- De Aza
U- Crisp
Bench- Arenado, T Frazier (1B, 3B, OF) Bencourt (1B, 2B, 3B)
DL- A Hill
SP (4)- MadBum, J Zimmermann, J Lester, Maholm
RP (3)- B League, Janssen, Wilhemson
Bench- G Perkins, Maholm, Hellickson, SLowey, Estrada
DL- Josh Johnson

Nope.

A #1 waiver should be used when you are upgrading your starting roster.

Upton may start over De Aza, maybe.

Try to get him once he clears, though.

Tough call. I'm pretty down on Upton because I've owned him for four years in a keeper league and he consistently underperforms. That being said, he does have upside (as I've been saying for four years). You have to ask yourself whether you think a more valuable player will become available. All things considered, I'd probably do it.
