Postby Chicago 2 » Mon May 13, 2013 4:54 pm

Give:
Dexter Fowler
Jose Altuve

Get:
Carlos Gomez
David Ortiz

I don't know what to make of Gomez hot start and can Ortiz stay healthy?

2B Jason Kipnis
3B Miguel Cabrera
SS Asdrubal Cabrera

I'd do this deal. I think there are similar questions behind if fowler can keep up his start, and if Gomez can keep up his. Gomez is definitely putting up an unsustainable 435 BABIP vs a 305 BABIP for Fowler showing Fowler actually has room to improve. You are giving up speed with Altuve+Fowler, but pick up Dee for Nava from the FA pool and you'll be fine. Big Papi will continue to be the MONSTER that he is.

In a redraft I would definitely do this. The BA for Gomez isn't real, but the power and speed are. He has 30/30 potential and just got moved to 3rd in the batting order. Look at the 2nd half of last season. The guy was a monster. I dropped him from one of my teams because I am an idiot. Ortiz is a bit of an injury risk, but shows no signs of slowing down and is more valuable in an OPS league. Plus Fowler has had trouble staying healthy as well.

In a keeper it would help to know the parameters, but I like the value in a vacuum.

I definitely like this for you especially if you are competing to win this year. Gomez is breaking out and I agree with the above that his power and speed are real. He just used to be a raw talent but now is putting it all together FINALLY! You know what you will get from Ortiz...production. Fowler has started coming back down to earth and I hate losing the little Altuve but you gotta do this deal.

please help mine
