A colleague is in a fantasy league ..but he has to stop managing his team for personal reasons. He offered to sell it to me for $25.00. Half the cost of his league's buy in. If I win any money, I have to repay him the remaining 25.00 and then I get to keep the rest. Unfortunately, due to some earlier mistakes and bad luck, he is third last with a record of 21-34-5.
Offense looks a little better once you put in Cruz over Markakis.
Pitching has been terrible but I expect Gallardo and Estrada to both bounce back so once that happens that staff won't look as bad.
Depending on how competitive the league is I'd try to sell Reynolds high and also look to see which catchers are out there in FA because Buck will likely be doodoo for the rest of the season. The trio of Buck/Reynolds/Cozart is just too many low average/inconsistent players.
It really depends on the skill of the league for whether or not you can salvage the team.
That team is worth $25 bucks...First I would try to patch some holes...I noticed you have both beltre and headley...I see beltre beeing your best trade chip from a return stanpoint, maybe a pitcher and a MI?????....he should definitly net you 2 players....then drop cozart immediatley and see what is on the wire, maybe a peralta, crawford type????....Even with the loss of beltre this allows you to plug headley in at 3rd and get cruz in your utility...keeping markakis in your outfield, cause i think he isnt that bad of a player, not special by anymeans but solid enough to be a 4th. Also scower the ww and see if there are a pitcher or 2 that might have sliped past your league mates....But yes I would buy this team...p.s.... look at the ww first before making any deals...if there is nothing but garbage then go to plan B and try to trade a strength to shore up your team a little....good luck....
C: John Buck - playing way over his head and will probably be ww material in another month or two in shallow 12 team leagues like this. 1B Mark Reynolds - playing way over his head, we know he has power but everything else will come crashing back down soon enough I'd imagine. 2B: Jose Altuve - solid 3B Adrian Beltre - solid SS: Zack Cozart - meh OF Jupton - nice OF: nick Markakis - meh OF Carlos GOmez - solid Util Chase Headley - solid Util Daniel Nava - I actually like him, but what can we really expect going forward...and this is still just a 12 team league so you'd expect a little better
Bench, Ike Davis, Weeks, N Cruz, Coco Crisp - solid potential in this mix but oft injured
Pitching: Yovani Gallardo, Fister, Estrada, Cj wilson, Wei Chen, Huroki Kuroda, Peavy, Arroyo - not good
