Currently 24 for 58, batting .414/.444/.776 with 17 RBI, which is more than most people in half the at bats. He's got a hit in every game this season and a hit streak of 27 straight dating back to last year.

I know some people were down on him with injury concerns before the season started. Has his hot start after regaining his health changed your minds at all? Do you still think he has a .300 season with 30 HR and 100+ RBI left in him? I do, and I think he does it in 130 games played. He's clearly an elite hitter and will be undervalued until he hangs them up.

From the Who's the "I should have seen that coming" guy this year? thread in the pre-season:

Skin Blues wrote:David Ortiz - He's gonna miss some time but he's coming off back-to-back .400 wOBA seasons, including a .300/.400/.600 abbreviated season in 2012. If he plays 100 games at 80% of that rate he'll be a bargain. Tons of room for profit from a guy still in his prime. If he flops and can't recover from the injury, you lose out on your 17th round pick. That's a gamble I'll make every single time.

Very high on him, and currently reaping the rewards. Risk of injury is still there, but as little risk in performance as anybody.
