Jason heyward's trade value upon return/braves

Postby nickels2012 » Wed May 08, 2013 1:15 pm

When Heyward returns I will have 3 Braves in my starting lineup (due to adding brian mccann as my catcher over miguel monterro)

Is this something I want? Granted Upton and Heyward are the 2 best players on the team and 2 of the best in the league. I feel like I am stuck at catcher.

If Heyward comes back and is looking good do I look to trade him and what could I get? An ace pitcher? Granderson is going to gain eligibility for me at one of the other 2 OF spots so I can start him Upton and Fowler in the OF. And I really need the rost spot for a 1b/rf (current plan is Swisher until Cory Hart returns)

So would you try to move Heyward for a top pitcher or would that be a crazy idea with his power potential?

Trading Herward will be a little difficult, even if he comes back strong quickly.

If you really need the help quick, then you;d have to sell low.

I would consider trading Upton for a 1b. You can sell high, and be pretty sure that you got the best months out of him.

But to answer the larger question, of having three Braves, I wouldn't be too worried.

Yeah i will just hang onto him he could be a steal I mean someone dropped him and I claimed him so he cost me nothing.

Upton I am not trading. I think he is this year's MVP and puts up steady numbers all season long.

I don't get the whole thing about not wanting multiple players from the same team. If you can get multiple players from a great lineup, go for it. I've got Miggy and Prince. I had both of them last year, plus Austin Jackson and I won my league. I even have three Rockies this year: Tulo, Cuddyer and Rosario. When one has a good night, the other can also benefit with Rs and RBIs.

It gets a little annoying when a team has the day off and you've got two or three guys not playing at the same time. But it all evens out.

If you want to trade Heyward, fine. But don't do it just because you already have Upton.

Why would anyone just drop him? Your good fortune I guess but as to your reason to move him it really doesn't matter that you have 3 Braves. You'd want your best overall lineup, regardless how many play on the same team.
