Bautista, Clay, Kuroda for Pedroia, Gio, Berkman? WHIR

Postby BravesGuy » Wed May 08, 2013 1:10 pm

What do you guys think of this trade thats currently on the table for me?

GIVE:
Jose Bautista (RF)
Hiroki Kuroda (SP)
Clay Buchholz (SP)

GET:
Dustin Pedroia (2B)
Gio Gonzalez (SP)
Lance Berkman (1B)

I usually don't like giving up the best player in a trade (Bautista). Pedroia would be a great upgrade at 2B for me.
RF is a solid position for me right now with Cuddyer and Pence playing so well, but Bautista could carry my team at some point...
Berkman sucks and is a throw in. Gio should be close to an Ace from here on out. I'm not sold on Clay being this good the rest of the season.

Should I accept?

You can kind of afford to give up Bautista... I'll admit..

But you need to get more for him. Especially if you are giving good pitching along with it.

I like Pedroia coming your way, and I think that is a good place to start with the trade (Joey Bats for Dustin, what do other people think of that? Seems like a win-win to me).

The question you have to ask yourself is, do you really want Lance Berkman??? Because he's not better than anything you have, and he will be injured for a month this year, for sure.

You sure don't need to be giving Kuroda, Gio is struggling--you should be able to buy low there (if at all, I say stay away).

Hope this helps. Thanks for the help on mine, I picked up LaRoche.

I would not do that if i were you. The way i see it bautista is better than dustin, clay is better than gio, and kuroda and berkman is a wash. I'd hold off.
