FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal writes that Kevin Gausman "might not be in the minors much longer."
Gausman has a 3.77 ERA but a nifty 29/1 K/BB ratio in 28 2/3 innings at Double-A Bowie this season, numbers he's compiled after making a strong impression in spring training. The Orioles are searching for a No. 5 starter and are likely to turn to Freddy Garcia next, but Gausman might not be far behind. He's thrown just 43 2/3 frames at the pro level, but, as Rosenthal notes, O's general manager Dan Duquette was aggressive with promotions last season, calling up both Manny Machado and Dylan Bundy. Gausman is worth stashing in deeper formats. May 1 - 7:07 PM

Anyone in Baltimore hearing when he may be up?

I was looking at a thread over at OriolesHangout (a fan forum) -- they don't seem to have anything more definite than the rest of us. The O's have Garcia and Jurrjens as rotation depth, so they have other options. It could take until June or so (to avoid Super 2, and possibly to give Gausman some turns in AAA).

He's been outstanding. I just traded Cingrani, along with Gallardo for Jay Bruce, which I think was a good deal, but it means I'll be looking for the next best thing. I know people like Wheeler, Bauer, etc. But Gausman...that's my guy.

apparently the news on Wei-Yin Chen isn't good.
Wei-Yin Chen saw doctors today and is a 'candidate' for the disabled list, GM Dan Duquette said. MRI will be read later today by Orioles doctors. (RotoInfo.com) (05/13)

if he does go on the DL, could Guasman be the one to get the call? or do the Orioles wait for the magic clock or whatever and wait until at least June?

is Gausman a must add in standard 12 team mixed leagues or a wait and see approach?
