Padres Interested in Quinn

Postby jonnyblack » Wed Mar 12, 2003 5:43 pm

The Padres are looking at Mark Quinn to fill the void left by Phil Nevins season ending surgery. Its going to be another long year in San Diego.

I just read that there is a possible Bubba Trammel/Undecided pitcher for Jeromy Burnitz deal in the works. I would have thought that the Pads would have a good team this year, but they seem to be actively trying to get worse.

I know.... it is sad. there is talk about them losing 110 games. They might as well go with the AAA guys.. Nady/Greene to see what they have... if the season is over already

As far as trading "Bubba". the boy had one good september and they gave him a multi-year contract for it. Burnitz is a huge upgrade, and that is really saying something about "Bubba". He's a nice guy, but lately San Diego has become full of nice guys, including the manager. I'd kinda prefer "Ballplayer's" on a media ban vs. AA players that are "Nice".
