Ian Desmond for J-Zimm (WHIR)

Standard 5x5 H2H 10 team keeper, you can keep 6 at cost. We were unable to hammer out a Panda deal, but my MI players stink and my pitching is abundant, so I would like to make a deal for either Ben Zobrist or Ian Desmond, both on the same team. He's hot for Jordan Zimmerman or Mat Latos. So what kind of deal can we put together here? I don't want any pitching back from him nor will he give it, so I'm only including the hitters from each team.

Next years cost would be J-Zimm/Latos $20 each.

My team:

C- Wieters ($13)
1B- Encarnacion ($10)
2B- Rutledge( $5)
3B- Ryan Zimmerman ($27)
SS- Starlin Castro ($20)
MI- Danny Espinosa ($5)
CI- Paul Goldschmidt ($14)
OF- Jay Bruce ($26)
OF- Carlos Gonzalez ($45)
OF- Aoki ($5)
OF- Adrian Gonzalez ($40)
OF- Choo ($18)
Util- McClouth $5)
BN- Ike Davis ($8)
BN- Brandon Moss ($5)

His:

C- Sal Perez ($10)
1B- Carlos Santana ($16)
2B- Ben Zobrist ($22)
3B- Evan Longoria ($33)
SS- Ian Desmond ($10)
MI- Asdrubal ($11)
CI- Pablo Sandoval ($10)
OF- Ellsbury ($26)
OF- Craig ($22)
OF- Frazier ($7)
OF- Cuddyer ($5)
OF-Fowler ($5)
UTIL- Victorino ($9)
BN- Middlebrooks ($10)

As always drop a link, I always respond.

Ugh, I don't know I liked the Pablo trade a lot better, Zobrist is good but I'm not a fan of Jennings, he strikes out too much and doesn't get on base enough, regardless of speed. Wouldn't do this trade.

Id go after Zobrist for sure. Id try to keep Latos bc of the K's and see if he would do Zimmerman straight up for Zobrist. If not, go the Latos route.

Yeah Zimm for Zobrist. If you can get JEnnings, cool but he does strike out a lot. He is on my team, and ehh not the best fantasy player.

Zobrist is good enough, and like you said you have many pitchers so giving Zimm isnt bad..

Help please...

I'm not sure where any Desmond Jennings talk came from, but he isn't even on this guy's team. I can get either Zobrist or IAN DESMOND in a deal with Jordan Zimmerman or Mat Latos. It doesn't have to be a straight up trade, I'm wondering what could be added in to turn it a bit more in my favor, or would a straight up deal be good enough?

i would prefer ian desmond over zobrist. better lineup around him which will help his counting stats. i dont think him hitting .300 last year was fluke but i do see his BA regressing to about .290 and not the .260 he was projected for. Zobrist multipositional eligibility is nice but if you are looking for a SS plug in i would go with Ian Desmond

i would shoot for zimm for desmond ...i like both zo and desmond equally actually...so take the 10 dollar guy. I dont favor latos that much over zimm, i think its a tossup. I think all 4 of these guys are even. Boring trades but you need to replace espinosa

Agreed with the latter. I like Desmond as he has great people around him on a winning team. I would do Zimm straight up for Desmond. And like you said, you could possibly add something in to make trade in your favor, but it all depends on what that guy wants/find out who you have that he wants.

Thanks for the help with mine. My league values pitching more, so both pitchers are worth more than Zobrist or Desmond in my league. Of the players mentioned, I slightly like Zobrist better for his track record and position eligibility for you, and I'd prefer to give up Zimmermann I suppose. Although he is more consistent than Latos, Latos looks like an ace right now that he is healthy.

Not really your problem, but what would your trade partner do at 2B if he trades Zobrist?
