According to this article the Jays season is already pretty much over:

So I dont think it really matters what they do.

Rasmus is propped up by his .381 babip. If you bring this back to his career average he's hitting in the .140's. The guy is striking out in 42% of his AB's. He refuses to make any adjustments with 2 strikes and he always gets himself behind in counts. This team needs some accountability and the best way to do that is take away playing time.

If you take away Rasmus' playing time, you're giving his playing time to an inferior player, thereby making the team worse. Great plan, indeed.

As far as the whole moving Lawrie and Bautista around and damaging the defense plan goes...

Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi 12m
Gibbons says #BlueJays no longer giving active consideration to moving Lawrie to second, Bautista to third.

Kawasaki is unacceptable at 2nd base.
Also Lawrie played second base in the minors with Milwaukee, he didn't play 3B until he got to Toronto.

Kawasaki hasn't played 2B for this team, only SS. Izturis and Bonifacio, though, have both played the position all season and been absolutely brutal at it.

It never does. Always doomed.

Jays aren't moving Bautista or Lawrie around. They blamed Bautista's earlier back issues with practicing fielding at third base. No way do they take a chance with their biggest asset.

Jays still have a chance. Every team goes through slumps. Look at how Milwaukee started..and how they are playing now.

Did you even read the article?
Its not about "still having a chance".
It about being 7 and 9 games behind 2 really good teams, with another 2 pretty decent teams also ahead of them all in their own division.
History tells us that they are already out of the playoffs, even with the 2nd wildcard.

Yankees? I thought it was luck/Pythag records back in the day. This year, it's more of a Mets-like suckitude in that everything that could go wrong has.

Could use one of those mid-season 20 game win streaks like from Moneyball.
