Ishii and W. Miller

Postby RAmst23 » Tue Apr 06, 2004 1:03 pm

My first time posting to the board woo!!

I just wanted to ask opinions on Ishii, I have him in an 11 team 5x5, and sat him out this first week. Kinda hesitant to start him, any thoughts about him?

Also, anyone else think W. Miller is going to have a stellar year? I think having Clemens there to push him is going to change his numbers drastically for the better.
Finally, only took one day for me to make a Fantasy blunder. Benching Nevin because I thought his hurt shoulder would keep him from doing anything... go Grand Slams. Thanks.

Be very very careful pitching Ishii - I wouldnt let him in your lineup until he has had a chance to pitch a couple good games. He is a trend pitcher - when he's good, hes good - When he's bad he will crush your %s. I have a seriously hard time recommending a SP with a WHIP over 1.5.

Miller, on the other hand, is very solid and should have a better yr than last yr.

Yay on Miller.
Nay on Ishii.

I made the same mistake with Nevin, damn injuries. Or not, doh!

I've never been a big fan of Ishii, but I think Wade Miller is in store for his best season yet.

I agree with Cornbread. Ishii does not deserve to make any roto team and he probably will have a negative value. If you have a very deep bench you can take him and only start him for his home starts, as I recall he has very drastic home/away splits.

Miller will be better than last year but will not blow anyone away.

I was watching the ESPN telecast of the Astros/Giants game and the commentators even mentioned how much Clemens has influenced Wade Miller ever since Clemens joined the team. If memory serves me correctly, that comment came from Rick Sutcliff so take it for what its worth. :-°
