Nolan Arenado Is UP

Postby rotoquest » Sun Apr 28, 2013 9:06 am

Rockies purchased the contract of 3B Nolan Arenado from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Arenado had a disappointing 2012 season at Double-A, but he raked in spring training and has earned a promotion after batting .364/.392/.667 with three homers, 11 doubles and 21 RBI at Colorado Springs. Chris Nelson was designated for assignment, clearing the way for Arenado to become the everyday third baseman. He should be added in all fantasy formats.

Putting up some pretty impressive numbers. Why not take a chance on a 22 year old in Colorado.

I had some scrap I was able to dump him for in most of my leagues. Speculative add that could pan out well. What do people expect his lines are going to look like?

I wish I knew. The only league I have a shot at him is my FAAB one since I was busy today. In that one there is no bench so I'd be bidding on him to replace Parra or Moustakas which are both kind of tough choices for different reasons.

He has a good eye and could hit 15-20 hr the rest of the season. He'll play every day or they wouldn't have bothered bringing him up.

Kubel coming back today puts Parra into a platoon. I actually dropped Parra today for Arenado for that reason.

I should probably look to drop D Espinosa for him in a 10 teamer, correct?

You shouldn't even own Espinosa in a 10 teamer IMO

I would think the Tulo injury would solidify his playing time and maybe even earn him a higher spot in the order pretty soon.

Tulo didn't even make it out of April.
