Trade Valverde for Halladay?

Postby twistedude » Sat Apr 27, 2013 12:54 pm

Hey Guys

I've been offered Roy Halladay for my Valverde. Really like the value I'm getting on this deal, but the problem is, I'm already extremely heavy on SP. Should I do it anyways and then trade/drop my lower end SP for bench hitters?

League settings: Keep 5 players at expense of draft round value, roto 5x5 standard cats

MY TEAM:

C: Mauer
1B: Adrian Gonzalez
2B: Jose Altuve
3B: Adrian Beltre
SS: Ian Desmond
IF: Dustin Ackley
LF: Mike Trout
CF: Vernon Wells
RF: Bryce Harper
UTIL: Denard Span

SP: Darvish, Lester, Minor, Teheran, Estrada, Hammel, Zito, Colon
RP: Frieri, League, Valverde, Gregg, Albequerque
DL: Greinke

Formerly good closer who is showing signs of life for a formerly great SP who is showing signs of life?

Unless you are playing pitch and ditch, I take it every single time.

Help with mine:

Best hitters on the wire were Russell Martin and Infante, both of whom I scooped up just now for Zito and Colon. There are some decent young prospects like Leonys Martin and Aaron Hicks, but otherwise the wire is looking pretty barren.

Still hung on this trade, any more opinions?
Now my team looks like:

C: Mauer
1B: Adrian Gonzalez
2B: Jose Altuve
3B: Adrian Beltre
SS: Ian Desmond
IF: Dustin Ackley
LF: Mike Trout
CF: Vernon Wells
RF: Bryce Harper
UTIL: Denard Span
BN: Infante, R. Martin

SP: Darvish, Lester, Minor, Teheran, Estrada, Hammel
RP: Frieri, League, Valverde, Gregg, Albequerque
DL: Greinke

I'd do it. Im not sold on Valverde really going back to his best, and I think Halladay, even though he is not as great as he once was, will always put up above average numbers for you.

Take it, and laugh your socks off when Valverde gets sent back to the Minors ;)
