4/25 Cheering, Venting, & JV1: "I Ween Da Gane!"

Postby bigh0rt » Thu Apr 25, 2013 8:23 am

.: Headline :.

Matthew Edward Harvey had already been let off the hook for the Loss, but the Mets and Dodgers were locked at 3 through 9 1/2 innings... until this happened. Walk-Off Grand Slam much?

But this isn't about the homer, no. This is about the Post-Game interview. Last time Jordany Valdespin graced us with one, he gave us the soundbyte, "I am the man right now!", a rally cry for Met fans every time he steps into the box. Last night, we got "I ween da gane. I ween da gane!" I don't know what language Jordany speaks, but it isn't Spanish, and it sure as hell isn't English. For good measure, we also get a John Buck cream pie facial that would make Peter North blush.

I was on the verge of dropping him, but this schlam/interview gave him another week.
I swear at some stage he said something about "winning the fast money" :-b

Hanley is having a beast mode rehab. Apparently he'll be back in 10 days. I hope this motivation carries through to his hitting/baserunning :-L

I need him to, as well. Slotting that production into my SS spot and moving Zobrist to 2B could be huge for my team and provide me some flexibility offensively where I can try and move a bat for an arm.

Ugh. Don't know what to do with James McDonald tonight. Sat him against ATL last time out and of course he pitched great. Tonight at Philly...16 teamer so I am probably going to throw him out there.

Just looking over my NL Only staff, and it occurred to me, im screwed. Its all raw talent
This is half of my starting staff.

Shelby Miller
Wily Peralta
Jose Fernandez
Tony Cingrani ...

four guys with less than a months MLB experience.
There's Cashner, who should probably be lumped in with the group above. My anchors, Grienke on the the DL obviously, and then the pitcher formally known as Matt Cain.

Im efffed. Ive gotta trade for some experience.

I'm locked into a pretty tight set of matchups this week. 24 tm league with 4 matchups every weeks. The 4 teams that I'm playing have a range of 107 to 140 pts and I'm sitting at 116. I definitely need a strong start by Sale. Buehrle gets the week off so expect something wonderful from him.

Yeah, still hanging onto to him in my deepest 3 leagues but patience is wearing thin. Collins thinks it's fun to rotate his OF game to game and it's hard to see it changing anytime soon. :-P
