Drop Jackson for Cingrani? WHIR 100%

Postby Mowntineer » Wed Apr 24, 2013 8:48 pm

Its a very deep 12 team keeer league with quite a bit of value in pitching.

I have the #1 waiver spot tomorrow and should be able to get Cingrani for Jackson for cheap if I want. Is he the real deal? Other options are Colon, Doubrant, Westbrook and Villanueva.

As always, WHIR.

I wouldnt waste a #1 waiver spot on Cingrani. He will have a probable 3 or 4 more starts before Cueto returns, than he may be sent back down-even though he is pitching lights-out right now. Is every player on waivers, or do you have free agency set up in your league? If every player picked up is off waivers, then it can be a good move...keeping in mind that he may be relegated back to the minors in a month.

Everyone is on waivers and we pay salaries.

In that case, I would choose either Doubrant or Westbrook. They will get more run support than Villanueva, and Colon is one wrong breaking ball away from the DL. It's a gamble taking Cingrani not knowing Cueto's return time for certain-or if Cingrani is going to stick in the rotation when he returns.

Long term, I like Doubrant and the Boston bullpen over Westbrook and the toss-up of a bullpen in St. Louis right now.

Short term, Cingrani is a great choice.

I would actually keep Jackson over all your options. I still think he has the best season of your choices.
