It depends if you would start him regularly or not. Looking at your lineup it seems like you could plug him in for Morse and still do well enough in the power categories when Bautista and Hamilton come around. The steals would probably help too since other than Jennings you really have no speed. If you don't plan on playing him everyday then I probably wouldn't do it.

How many closers do the other teams in your league carry? Are their any decent reiief pitchers available on the wire? In a vacuum this deal is a great value for you imo, but the league context always helps.

If you have an open DL slot then I would stash Madson (Frieri's ERA might be nice, but he is putting a lot of guys on base) and then add Veras. Veras' ratios are ugly and Houston is a terrible team, but they don't really have anyone else to close and they will win some games. I can see Veras saving 25 games this year and with Street's history of injuries I don't think his upside is that much higher. Do the deal if you can get Veras imo. Frankly it wouldn't surprise me at all if another closer lost his job in the next few months so be proactive in terms of chasing saves.

Madson isn't worth a bench spot. But yeah I like his chances over Hanrahan. Bailey is a much better pitcher than Frieri imo. When chasing saves the guy who has the job is far more important than the skills of the guys who don't. Hanrahan was a mess before he went on the DL. I think Bailey has the job locked down.

This should not really be a discussion. It's a no-brainer accept. Who cares if you don't quite have a place for him? It's all about acquiring talent. Wait until Jackson gets out of his slump, then flip him and another piece for a Lowrie upgrade (Tulo?) or just keep him for OF insurance, since you have a few question marks either due to injuries or deterioration of skills (Hamilton ick).
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

I say do the deal. I'm not big on Street because of his injury history, and also because you can find saves later. Jackson would provide a boost to your lineup if you selectively start him. Looks like a good trade for you.

I do the deal. Austin Jackson is very solid and you can always find a flavor of the week closer off the WW if you pay close attention. Street is injury prone anyway. Good deal for you.

Yes, you should do this deal. Grab Valverde, as he was just added to the DET roster today. I expect him to get a shot at the 9th in the next week or two.
