wrigley seating advise

Postby hersko » Tue Apr 06, 2004 11:20 am

I'm visiting Wrigley for the first time in a few months. I'm getting tickets through a broker and have a few options. I know I'm supposed to sit in the bleachers, but I'm going to save that for my second time.
1 Section: Section 110, Row 9 (twice the price of the others)
2 Section: Section 135, Row 9
3 Section: Section 209, Row 9
4 Section: Section 222, Row 9

I'm leaning towards option 4, but I read somewhere the roof blocks out the sky and the outfield from some seats in the middle tier. Is section 222, row 9 ok?

Section 110 or 135 is what I'd do. I sat in 105 before and those weren't too bad.

One advantage of not sitting in bleachers is that you can get you beer from vendors walking through the sections. They make bleacher bums get up and go to the concession stand for their's (For good reason ;-) )

sit in the bleachers.......you HAVE to......the bleachers are part of the history of wrigley.

i've sat under the roof once and in the bleachers once and it doesn't even compare.........the bleachers were way more fun. from the people out there to the view, it was much better

sitting under the roof feels kind of like your underground.

jesus, that's some heavy digging for this thread.

since it been pulled to the top here's some good info:

1st base side gets the most sun
500 level sucks
400 level is fine in the first few rows between 1st and 3rd, very good behind home
201, 202, 240, 242 get sun partly or in full. all other 200 level is covered and sucks unless you are in the 1st 5 rows.
100 level is always good
000 level you can't afford
bleachers are more about novelty factor and the experience than watching the game
TennCare rocks!!!!

yeah, you definately won't be able to keep your own scorebook in the bleachers.
but its a great experience.

i've been a cubs fan my whole life, but had never been north of st. louis until a couple of years ago. my wife surprised me with tickets to a cubs game for fathers day. (we actually went to 2 cubs games and a white sox game).
the highlight of my trip to chicago was sitting in the bleachers with an Old Style beer.
