I'd take embree, his career k/9 hints to me that he could end up a top closer. of course, being left handed sets him up for those stupid one batter appearences. I'd also drop contreras. he's a high priced sterling hitchcock (Who, by the way, makes more money than marshal faulk)

I think it's worth it to keep him on the bench because who knows? Maybe someone on the rotation will get injured (Pettite) or someone will suck really bad (Wells) and he'll jump into the rotation and actually do something.
Spring Training is usually not a good indicator of how a guy will throw during the season. But with Contreras, it's all we know of him. The only other thing we know about him is that the Yankees pay him a lot of money. The rockies paid hampton a lot of money too, and the yanks with el duque. Contreras has been throwing raw steaks in spring training, getting shelled worse than the bombing of dresden, or the toyko fire storm. If there is someone else out there, id drop him, but that is just my oppinion. Now that i have said this, he will prolly go out and win a cy young.
