Hi guys. First off, here is my team (10 team roto league, 5x5 but OPS instead of BA):

Batters:
C: Ivan Rodriguez
1B: Jeff Bagwell
2B: Alfonso Soriano
SS: Jose Hernandez
3B: Edgardo Alfonzo
OF: Vladimir Guerrero
OF: Manny Ramirez
OF: Luis Gonzalez
Util: Austin Kearns
Bench: Shannon Stewart
Bench: Juan Encarnacion

Pitchers
SP: Mike Mussina
SP: Kevin Millwood
RP: Armando Benitez
RP: Billy Koch
P: Josh Beckett
P: Russ Ortiz
P: Ben Sheets
Bench: Mike DeJean
Bench: Jose Contreras
DL: Trevor Hoffman

Since Hoffman is on the DL I can pick up one more pitcher. Here are some interesting pitchers still available:

Kurt Ainsworth
Elmer Dessens
Kirk Rueter
Kip Wells
Orlando Hernandez
Carlos Zambrano
Andy Ashby
Jason Simontacchi
Kazuhisa Ishii
Josh Fogg
Kris Benson
Tony Armas Jr.
Alan Embree
Brandon Villafuerte
Jay Witaski
Brandon Duckworth
Adam Eaton
Who would you pick up and why? Thanks.

I'd take embree, his career k/9 hints to me that he could end up a top closer. of course, being left handed sets him up for those stupid one batter appearences. I'd also drop contreras. he's a high priced sterling hitchcock (Who, by the way, makes more money than marshal faulk)

I think it's worth it to keep him on the bench because who knows? Maybe someone on the rotation will get injured (Pettite) or someone will suck really bad (Wells) and he'll jump into the rotation and actually do something.

Spring Training is usually not a good indicator of how a guy will throw during the season. But with Contreras, it's all we know of him. The only other thing we know about him is that the Yankees pay him a lot of money. The rockies paid hampton a lot of money too, and the yanks with el duque. Contreras has been throwing raw steaks in spring training, getting shelled worse than the bombing of dresden, or the toyko fire storm. If there is someone else out there, id drop him, but that is just my oppinion. Now that i have said this, he will prolly go out and win a cy young.

Pick up Benson for now. When those closer by commitee teams find their closers, take one.
