Nationals recalled 3B Anthony Rendon from Double-A Harrisburg. Rendon will take the place of Ryan Zimmerman, who was placed on the disabled list with an injured left hamstring. The top prospect, who will be making his major league debut, will start right away, according to manager Davey Johnson. Rendon offers some power but is mainly useful for batting average and on-base percentage, if your league uses that statistic. Still, in that lineup, Rendon is a must-grab for Zimmerman owners and anyone else looking for a lottery ticket.
You need to pick him up immediately in any decent sized league and expect nothing. He obviously has a great pedigree and got off to a good start in the minors, hopefully you might catch lightning in a bottle or cut him when Zimmerman returns.

I would not drop Youk. If one of these guys is going to get 25 HRs and 90 RBIs, it's still Youk and it's not close.
I think something that needs to be remembered. I would imagine more than likely once Zimmerman returns, that Rendon would go back to the minors. even if Rendon is hitting well, where would they play him? I assume when healthy all the starters will be Zimmerman 3B, Desmond SS, Espinosa 2B, LaRoche, 1B, with an OF of Harper, Werth, Span. Washington is a team expected to contend, so it's not like they would trade someone else just to keep Rendon in the lineup. I did read something that in the spring the Nationals were going to use Rendon at other positions besides 3B. I have no idea if they did then or if they have in the minors. what are the chances Rendon remains with Washington after Zimmerman returns?
