12 team yahoo pro roto. I am in the top 2 of every offensive category and middle of the pack or lower in all pitching. In second place overall.

I sent E Cabrera for Cain and Janssen.

I think I sold high on E Cab. I don't think the avg stays.
I think I bought low on Cain and picked up some needed saves.

BTW I have Zobrist and Franklin for SS.

Thoughts?

I just traded Shelby Miller/Jarrod Parker for Shin Soo Choo/Josh Johnson in our 20 team OBP league.

I feel like I sold high on Miller and potentially bought low on Johnson.

I understand "going for it" but in a keeper league, im having trouble dealing him for 3 guys who cannot be kept. unless you win it all, you just forfeited a fantasy stud for many years to come... just not worth it AT ALL in my opinion... If those guys had keeper value, id feel different but without it, its a huge win for the "new" Puig owner

I disagree. I want the Stanton side all day in this trade.

You need to consider that it's an auction keeper, so the only player that'll be able to be kept is Puig.

I'm not familiar with how auction keepers work, but in almost any keeper format, I cant imagine dealing someone with Puig's upside & getting NO keeper possibilities in return. You're completely forfeiting multiple years of INCREDIBLE value for 1 season of a "possible" 1st place finish... for me, its no where near worth it.

In a ten team league, I'd gladly trade five years of potential future success for one really good chance at a title. One title is worth a lot.

As do I. I also think you're vastly overrating the expected value of Puig over the next 5 years, and of an Outfielder in general for most fantasy baseball leagues. I just traded Puig, on a minor league A+ contract, Matt Garza on a very good contract, and Logan Morrison for poor, potentially unkeepable (maybe 1 year, and probably not all of them) contracts of Matt Cain, Ben Zobrist, Brandon Moss, and Dillon Gee.

buy low on Asdrubal Cabrera?
his July numbers are brutal.
.129/.256/.129/.385/

although he did go 1 for 4 today with that 1 hit being a HR.
