From rotoinfo, who agrees with this? I own him in 2 out of 3 leagues.
If there was ever a sell-high candidate, it is Jordan Zimmermann. The Nationals have scored the second-fewest runs in baseball, and while the offense will most likely improve, Zimmermann is unlikely to continue to win at this rate. He has also been getting a bit lucky with his BABIP against. Add in his pedestrian 80 strikeouts and you have a guy whose perceived value is likely greater than his actual value.
To be fair, he has pitched 7 or more innings in 12/16 starts, so the wins aren't flukey, you just give up 2 runs in 7 or 8 innings, and the 3 runs of support he'll get is enough. People always write off wins as flukey, but pitching deep into games with a solid ERA can have a profound impact on winning baseball games. It seems obvious, but it is often overlooked.
The Ks aren't great, but he has as many or more than: Gallardo/Corbin/Dickey/Cobb/Fister/Medlen/Hellickson/Kennedy/MaholmTeheran/Miley/Kluber/Wood/Kuroda/Locke
I can't defend the BAPIP, I would only say that I've watched nearly all his games and nobody drives the ball against him. They either hit crappy ground balls or a can of corn to the outfield. BAPIP is going to be low for him because hitters don't make good contact.
