My opinion is leave him to the pretenders. He's dead to me.

He is a free agent buy. We are still in the small sample size portion of the season. He has sucked balls but I still put more weight in his 2012 numbers for now.

Too bad those 2012 numbers weren't very good either. I don't really understand the big draw for Moustakas unless you are just living off of his high prospect rankings. He should be an alright fantasy player but I don't the upside is there particularly in redraft leagues.

I agree with Kab, Moustakas just doesn't seem to be very good. He's a middling option, a starter at a CI or Util position, with small potential to be much more.

Mous would probably be better suited to a platoon sadly

Moose and Hosmer both suck and aren't really that close to coming out of it, they are lost. If the Royals had any other options at all, Moose would be in Omaha in a couple weeks...with that said he might be anyway. If Hosmer can at least maintain a decent OBP he'll stay up but he's really just as lost with his swing as well.

Gallado reminds me of Morrow. Solid stuff but wild and prone to huge blow ups.

If you believe in Moustakas he is a great buy low. I know I would gladly sell him lower than where I drafted him in the one league I have him and I didn't draft him all that high.

I haven't been watching Moustakas, but is he maybe trying too hard to hit fly balls in order to hit HR?
he has 63.3 FB% and 12.2 LD%.
he's not striking out a lot, only at 12.9% on the season. last season he was at 20.2%.
his walks are decent and up from last season, at 8.1% this season. last season he was at 6.4%.
his contact is up to 82.7% this season. last season he was at 77.9%.

I've wondered if maybe he has been trying too hard to hit HR.

I think the missing stat in there is the IFFB% which is almost 20%. So he hits the ball in the air 63% of the time and 20% of those times it is a sure fire out.
