I can't decide whether to put Gibbons or Crawford in my Util spot for tonight. Gibbons faces Schilling, and Crawford faces the Moose. Who should it be?

I have a similar decision between Gibbons and H. Matsui. I'm sitting Gibbons, despite being very high on him for the season. If I were you, I'd go with Crawford.

but i have a feeling neither Gibbons or Crawford's gonna hava particularly good night against Schilling and the Moose
if i were you i'd just bench em both and leave the util. spot empty for tonight.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

I actually think Mussina owns Crawford.
trying to find the numbers, but I would pick Gibbons.

Crawford is a career .190 hitter against Mike Mussina (4 hits in 21 AB). Out of those 4 hits, 1 was a double and 1 was a triple.
I'd go with Gibbons over Crawford because he was pretty good against Pedro. Even if Schilling is dominant, who says he's gonna go past 7 innings or what not? Also, the BoSox's bullpen has been shaky this Spring.
For the guy who's deciding between Matsui vs Crawford, I'd go with Matsui simply because he's been very good in Spring Training as well as in the 2 game series in Japan

I'd play Gibbons because Schilling might just concentrate on the O's 3-4-5 hitter and forget the O's 2003 cleanup hitter (Gibbons)

extremely unlikely. schilling is one of the best prepared pitchers in the league. he's not gonna be grooving meatballs down the pipe.
