Looking to deal Buchholz [WHIR]

Postby Swept Away » Wed Apr 17, 2013 10:54 am

Hi all, Clay Buchholz is off to an amazing start and I'd like to capitalize, but I'm not sure how he's perceived. I'm curious about whatcaliber of player I can get for him. Has Clay been traded in your leagues? I'm just curious what he's going for and what you think he's worth right now. I feel like if I'm going to deal him now would be the time. Specifically, I'd like more power, preferably at 2B but I could upgrade OF or 3B too.

Any help would be appreciated and I'll be happy to help you if you leave a link.

UPDATE 4/24: Edwin Encarnacion's owner mentioned he would like to shake things up and deal EE. I haven't made him an offer yet, but I was thinking of offering Buchholz and Jayson Werth for Encarnacion. I know this doesn't help my MI but given his power potential I'd like to take a risk on him. Does this seem like a fair deal?

Here is my roster:

Definitely should go after some kind of power hitting infielder like a Tulo Fielder or something which your team needs to compete.

Freese or Machado/Buchholz/Pence or Worth. You don't have a lot of elite talent.

Best idea is to go after some bats that will hit for power but maybe not be elite...someone like a Howard you could get cheaply and maybe even another throw in that would help you elsewhere.

Butler would be a legit target.

Buch is off to a hot start. How long will it last? I like moving him. Maybe not an early rounder, but agree you should bolster your IF.

Agree. Infielder, especially 2b/ss. No need for 3 OF bats on your bench. Your bench is for depth in case of nagging injuries or to fill in for Monday/Thursday in Daily Leagues.
