Washington is a pretty free-swinging team. Harper swings, LaRoche swings, Werth swings, Espinosa swings. I think he will be fine against these guys.

Cingrani Time!

Sorry guys, but I just can't envision someone crushing as hard as he is right now, just being figured out in his 2nd trip through the league.

He has been sick (small sample size I know), but looking at the upcoming Reds schedule, assuming every 5th game and assuming he stays in the rotation:

May 4th @ CHC
May 10th vs MIL
May 16 @ MIA
May 21 @ NYM
May 27th vs CLE
June 1st @ PIT
June 7th vs STL
June 12 @ CHC

YUM.

As good as he has been, it seems like he still has a good chance of being sent down when Cueto returns. Leake hasn't been bad enough to lose his job so it's either Cingrani going back down or a 6 man rotation which is unlikely.

Sure he has. Cingrani has been much better, and none of the other 4 have done enough to lose their jobs. Leake hasn't been good enough either in his career or this season to justify keeping in the rotation over Cingrani. Not on a team that is in win-now mode. I imagine there would be a much deserved fan uprising if they sent him down or put him in the bullpen.

Mike Leake won't last. Not saying Cingrani will be this good all year, but I think he can definitely do better than Leake.

Here is interesting analysis of his last start by folks at Razzball -- interesting.

I really regret not putting in a higher FAAB bid that night than Cueto got hurt. The extra $5 would have paid off big time, especially if this Matt Moore impression keeps up. The one positive note is that my hopes aren't hinging on Dusty Baker making a rational decision.

Cueto scratched from his rehab start with an oblique, looks like it's definitely Cingrani time for at least a while longer.
