All this guy does is rake.

.429 , 4 HRs , 8 XBH, 16 RBI thru 5 games.

He's going to force his way to the bigs pretty soon IMO.

I'm beginning to wonder if we shouldn't just pay attention to him because he's a catcher who can hit a little, but more pay attention to him as just a great hitter regardless of position.

of course, he has the recent Seattle hitter prospect curse to overcome.

Perhaps he is a stud hitter but there isn't a lot of data saying that and scouts aren't projecting him as such in the majors.

sure, but all he's done since advancing to pro ball is hit the crap out of the ball. It's a small sample size, but through 267 minor league at bats he's hitting .341 with 19 HR with an OBP near .400 while advancing from rookie ball to now AAA and not slowing down at any stop. He won't keep up that pace, but it's pretty eye popping.

since he was a college hitter I pretty much completely throw out rk ball and low A stats. That leaves him with <100 PA's where he has raked. I will stick to the scouting reports that say he's more of a .280 hitter with 15+ HR power.
