He just hit a squibber that he raced to first on. On stepping on the bag his hammy went POP(!!!) He went to the ground where he laid motionless punching the turf. He did walk off but the agony on his face when he was going to the ground was grim.

But he's Giancarlo Stanton. Maybe a rub down will make it better.

I think he'll be out for awhile.

I don't know, his reaction was one of great pain, but a second look didn't show anything that was conclusively a serious injury. It's probably too early to say for sure that a DL stint will be required. Anything from a bad cramp to a tear, so a big range of possibilities.

Greg Amsinger just reported...

"strained right hamstring".

Nothing about time lost or anything.

With the reaction he had, he should be fined if nothing is torn.

I remember Lebron going down during the NBA playoffs last year. He didn't have as dramatic a reaction once down, but he went down in a similar manner and it was just a cramp. That was probably lucky, but until there's official word, I won't assume the worst.

I don't think he is really hurt. He looked around the dugout at the team around him and decided to fake it so he could have a couple weeks off.

When I saw the play I was pretty sure he was saying "Someone help me I have a flat tire"

Yahoo sports reporting that Stanton has a "severe strain" and will miss at least 3 weeks and probably more.

Great, me and my big mouth, talking him up.
