Gian Stanton - Anyone else concerned?

Not trying to panic too early on the guy, but I'm wondering what everyone else's thoughts were on his lackluster performance so far.

Last year he was an absolute monster down the stretch. I still believe in that production more than I believe in what he has done thus far this season. I'd buy low on him if I didn't have him, because I still think he'll hit 35+ HRs.

He had one homer last season in April and everyone was panicking..then he hit 12 in May.

Not worried about Stanton unless an injury raises its head.

The guys I am worried about right now are guys like Dan Harren and Brandon Morrow.

the power should be there. 35+ HR. but just don't count on a whole lot of R/RBI. not as long as he has the likes of Polanco or Dobbs batting behind him.
he has 23.5 BB% along with 32.4 K%.
while looking at fangraphs, I see something interesting I don't think I've ever seen before.
0.0 LD%, 46.7 GB%, 53.3 FB%.
I don't think I've ever seen someone with 0 LD%.

Spend some more time going through stats based on a week's worth of games. You'll see it's quite common.

Even with Reyes and Ramirez that lineup was awful last year. I don't expect the R/RBI to drop all that much from last year.

last year with Reyes and Ramirez he had 86 RBI/75 R in 123 games played/449 AB. the year before he had 516 AB. if he had as many games/AB last year that pace would have been around 98 RBI/86 R. he doesn't have the same type of hitters in the lineup this season as he did last season, so I doubt you're going to get better than 98/86. I would be surprised if he finished higher than 90/75 and even that is stretching it. I think he is going to be closer to 85/70. whether it's 90/75 or 85/70 ..that still seems low for someone who would be hitting 35+ HR.

The quality of hitters behind him didn't change so his runs shouldn't change. Ramirez batting ahead of him is a mixed blessing as he clears some runs and lets be honest, he had a .749 OPS with MIA last year, that isn't a big loss. Reyes is the only guy they lost that should really change much with him.
