Uggh. I think it's too early to give up on anyone. I'd hang onto Koch for a little while. But I don't see anyone ready to close in Pittsburgh, and Marte is waiting in Chicago. But, then again, Marte stunk today.

Wait it out. I know it's hard, but it's one day.
I'm back. Sorta.

Do not boo Johnny.

Koch looked ok today, He hit 97, got a nice K on Guiel, & Santiago's hit was flimsy, Guillen pulled em paniced cause he hears how Kock stinks. I bet if he would of stuck w Koch he would of got the save & chisox won

First of all, you don't want Jose Mesa if your life depended on it. Second of all, it's only the first game and Koch didn't do THAT bad. He threw 10 pitches, 7 for strikes. Have a little faith but also have a watchful eye, it's only the first week.

Yeh, if it was anyone else I wouldn't have asked - I was just concerned it was a sign Koch hadn't improved any and was gonna bomb out again this year

I'd stick with him a little longer. Like everyone already said, most everything was ok today. 7 out of 10 pitches for strikes, got a k, weak hit (I didn't see that one), hit 97 on the gun, Marte didn't help himself any, etc. A little too early to just give up on him.

Don't trust either. I'd be looking to make a trade if those were my options. They both stink.

Yeah, I wouldn't drop Koch for Mesa.
I've got Mesa ranked very low on my TOP 30 rp list, based in large part on his 2003 season with the Phills.

I wouldn't give up on anyone based on today's results.

However I gave up on Koch in the pre-season based on last year's results.
