Here's an update from Pennlive.com:
Oscar Taveras, OF, St. Louis Cardinals: is one of the best pure hitters in the minor leagues. He makes consistent, hard contact and and projects to hit 20-plus home runs when he gets the call to St. Louis, possibly as early as June 4, general manager John Mozeliak told InsideSTL.com yesterday.
Taveras flashed all those hit tools in a four-game road series that wrapped up last night, going 11-for-19 at the plate with three doubles, four RBIs and just one strikeout. The 6-2, 200-pound prospect is hitting .405 (17-for-42) in his last 10 games to raise his season average to .322 with six homers and 35 RBIs.
Listed as the No. 2 prospect in baseball by MLB.com, Taveras is one of a select few prospects who can make an immediate impact in fantasy leagues. There's a possibility for playing time issues, but Taveras does stand a chance of playing every day by providing the offensive spark that Peter Bourjos (.223) and Allen Craig (.239) have lacked.
