Derek Holland? or Jason Hammel?

Postby ant92 » Sat Apr 06, 2013 8:32 pm

10 team H2H Points League

My team's pitching is:
P - A.J. Burnett
SP - Felix Hernandez
SP - Jonathon Niese
SP - Ryan Vogelsong
RP - Jim Johnson
RP - Jason Grilli
BE - Cliff Lee
BE - Wade Miley
BE - Derek Holland
BE - Jason Motte (DL)

Derek Holland had a decent 1st outing going for 7IP, 1ER, 1BB, and 5K's for 17 points
In comparison, Jason Hammel went for 6IP, 3ER, 1BB, and 2K's also receiving 17 points (earned the win)

Do you think these stats hold up for the whole season? Jason Hammel was a great pitcher last season until being injured. Holland, however, wasnt so great. What do you guys think about THIS season? Hammel or Holland?

Thanks for the help on mine. I'm not crazy about either one, but if those were my two choices I'd pick Holland. Hammel's track record is not very good imo. Holland might have more upside. Good luck.

Thanks for the input - definitely appreciated, and definitely being considered in my ultimate decision. But i'd also like to see more people's opinions. Anyone have anything to say?

I understand the previous poster's philosophy...I usually don't like making too many moves early on, but...

why not Hammel AND Holland? How does that happen, you say? By dropping AJ Burnett, who I rank below both pitchers we have already mentioned.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

Yes I'd take Hammel over Burnett as well.
