Also... I've made 1 trade so far it went thru for opening day. I traded away Chris Davis and Matt Harvey for Giancarlo Stanton :~( :~(

The biggest problem in my league is, after 9 years, everyone figures anytime a trade is offered it's because one guy knows something the other guy doesn't. Hardly any trades as a result anymore.

There will typically be many more trades in any kind of sophisticated keeper league than a redraft. League member makeup and long term league loyalty play a big part for sure, but the specific nuances of the league are the real driver. If anything we probably do too many trades in my primary league. We probably average north of 150 deals in a calendar year. Most of them are good trades, some are going to prove to be stinkers, it's just the law of averages. Over the last ten or so years, (since we tweaked or keeper system) I probably only do 6-10 on average and I'm a lame-o, definitely in the lower 1/3 of traders. We have a few guys that top 40 deals every year and we've not had an owner make zero trades in a year since we adjusted things. Early season is typically busy in that league. We only had one deal done yesterday but as I looked just now there are 4 trades pending commish approval today.

Our dynasty league heated up around the deadline last year, and I'm pretty sure it will this year. So far I've made this trade:

I gave:
Byron Buxton through 2017
Jedd Gyorko through 2016
Tommy Milone through 2014
Addison Reed through 2013

I received:
Mat Latos through 2015
Mike Minor through 2016

Keeper league, every team keeps just 4 from the year previous.

I give up: Pujols, Aoki, Fernandez
I get: J Upton, Cuddyer, Ogando

League counts K's against for hitting where Pujols and Aoki shine. Risky but now I have Cano/Upton/Longoria locked up long term.

In a redraft league I'm in (5x5)..first trade that went through:

Doug Jennings and Mariano Rivera for Adam Jones.

I like it, the team that needs a closer gives him up for a less reliable 5 tool player and a closer.

In another 4 player keeper league that does not count batting avg, just OBP and SLG seperately...

Edwin Encarnacion + Jacob Ellsbury +4th round pick for Derick Holland + Adam Jones and a 10th round pick

I protested the second trade. But it still went through.

Maid my first trade of the season:

My Kenley Jensen for Rickie Weeks.

I needed a 2B since I had Aaron Hill and he got hurt. The FA market was terrible, with Scutaro, Chris Gets and macier Izturis. So I traded a good middle reliever that may yet become a closer, for a fill in 2B.

I think someone got an advance copy of the results from the first two weeks. I would have gone for Stanton easily even though I like Harvey a little too much.

Ya that one is looking hard to top for one sided affairs to this point... I'm still trying to get Stanton in my keeper league though, I believe in him and in the fact he will be a Yankee at some point and have a 60 HR season. Just not this season.
