I'd take it even if Stanton wasn't in his last keeper year. You're winning this trade big time imo.

QUESTION:

Will that trade get vetoed?

% ownership is so low on Machado and Griffin ... But Stanton is best player in deal...

Wow this guy really wants Stanton.

I do like the deal, but let's take a quick pause and really think it through. Of the three players you're getting, which ones could be keepers for you? If you wouldn't end up keeping any of the three you're getting, why are you making the trade? What is the ultimate goal?

You're giving up a top 10 bat, a top 100 bat (with top 50 potential), and an underrated pitcher and getting

3 top 50 bats, and 1 potentially the best at his position (Desmond), and Freeman still ascending. We kind of know what Jones is at this point. Which of these guys do you see yourself realistically keeping?
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

No trades should be vetoed unless they're clear collusion, but I always play commissioner veto just to make sure it doesn't happen. It really depends on your league.

Who cares if he can keep any of them. He can't keep Stanton next year anyways and this trade makes his team significantly better for this season. Next year is irrelevant. Also I'd prefer Jones over Stanton straight up anyways.

Well, then you're just silly if you would take Jones straight up over Stanton.

And, this gentleman and I have a history of advice-giving, so I always like to ask what he's thinking. I'm interested in knowing a deeper context. I apologize for caring.

With the lineup surrounding Stanton, it's really not too crazy to think Jones might have a better year.

I'd still take Stanton 1 to 1, but Desmond and Freeman >> Machado and Griffin

Machado still has a long way to go.
