Trade stud OFs for stud pitching?

Postby edikuliciousness » Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:56 am

12 Team H2H (R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB)

This is only my 2nd year playing fantasy baseball. I believe its standard yahoo H2H format (not sure).

My question to the forum is this:

Should I try and trade away 1 or 2 of my outfielders for some quality pitching? I made one trade last year that I thought was fair and took it right away but everyone said I got hosed so I decided not to make anymore trades. Examples would be great as well!

Thanks in advance!

I think this would be a good idea. I mean you should be able to get a pretty good arm for either Cespedes, Heyward, or Elsbury.
I mean it would depend on the other team, but no reason you shouldn't get a Cain, Lee, Hamels, Weaver, Dickey, Darvish level guy in return
Besides you will be fine with Middlebrooks, Berkman type guy in your util slot until Granderson comes back.

I think that would be a smart move. Take a look around the league and see who could use an OF and then look at what SP they have. You should be able to find something that would work.

First off is this a daily transaction league or weekly?

If you're going to move an OF I'd trade Ellsbury because you need the power that the other guys provide. Now of course if Ellsbury reverts back to 2011 form it will suck, but I'm going to go ahead and consider that year an fluke.

Maybe something like Ellsbury, Morales, and Peavy for a top tier SP and a RP.

I would look to move Cespedes or Elsbury for a SP. I wouldn't trade for an RP; I would just pick up the next available one off of the WW.

Help with mine?

I wouldn't trade for Sabathia, his velocity is down and he just doesn't look that good.

Also as I said before I'd try and move Ellsbury before Heyward.

Don't trade for Marmol, he won't be the closer much longer.
