10-team H2H; 5x5; non-keeper.

C – M. Montero
1B – F. Freeman
2B – R. Weeks
3B – R. Zimmerman
SS – B. Zobrist
LF – M. Holliday
CF – M. Kemp
RF – G. Stanton
Util – S. Choo (CF,RF)
Util – W. Middlebrooks (3B)

SP – C. Lee
SP – J. Cueto
RP – G. Perkins
RP – T. Wilhelmsen
P – S. Cishek (RP)
P – D. Fister (SP)
P – Josh Johnson (SP)
P – J. Lester (SP)

BN – I. Suzuki (LF,CF,RF)
BN – J. Rutledge (2B,SS)
BN – J. Beckett (SP)
BN – R. Dempster (SP)
BN – M. Estrada (SP)
BN – C. Tillman (SP)
BN – A. Pettitte (SP)
DL – C. Hart (1B,RF)

Someone wants to trade me their Michael Morse (LF,RF) for my Doug Fister (SP). Notice that our league uses specific outfield positions, and not general OF spots. I know that he’s likely to produce 25+ HR’s and a good batting average; but it looks like I already have plenty of power, especially in the outfield. And I have Corey Hart on the DL and coming back in early May. I’d rather have a good hitter than a good pitcher, but I’m hesitant to trade any of my pitching this early in the season. While it's only a 10-team league, there are not a lot of good options on the WW. Should I ask him to throw in another not-as-established pitcher? Do I even need Morse?

I appreciate any suggestions. WHIR

I think I would do that deal. I am not a fan of Fister so I think you get the better player. Then turn around and offer up Holliday for a better SP.

I had thought of this. What kind of starting pitcher should I target for Matt Holliday?

Any other suggestions, guys?

I would look for someone in the top 15. Look at the teams in your league and see who could use a LF bat and then look at what kind of pitching they have. Targeting a specific pitcher isn't going to work if the other team doesn't need what you are offering.

I would do this deal as well. Given the other pitchers on your staff, I feel like you can afford to give up Fister. Even if you wanted to turn around and flip Morse in another trade I think that would work. Morse is off to a hot start and just has more value in general IMO. ;-D
