Ed Encarnacion just hit a line drive homer that made it out the park in about 1 second. 8-o

Did Marcum get activated from the DL? I can't find anything that says he did but ESPN took him off the DL and is making me activate him if I want to make any moves.

That hardly seems possible, I read that he just missed a rehab start or something.

Mistake on their end. Marcum has been shut down for the next 2 days. Inflammation in the shoulder and neck.

Statistically speaking, you should have your best hitter batting second or 4th. The number 4 hitter has the most important situations, but the number two hitter has more plate appearances.

Edit: I knew there was an interesting article on this. I just found it. Expanding on this, the most important positions in the lineup are (in order): 4th, 2nd, 1st, 5th. The number three hitter should actually be the fifth best hitter on the team.

Yep. 3 hitter comes up most frequently with bases empty and 2 out. Can't imagine why anybody would be upset that Robbie is batting second.

The old "leadoff gets on base, second hitter sacrifices him over, 3-hitter knocks him in" scenario very rarely ever happens, and when it does you only get one run. Happens just as often as "first two batters get out, 3-hitter gets a walk/single/double, gets stranded there".

If he's healthy, he'll hit HRs. If he's healthy all season, he'll lead the league in HRs. I'll hold my breath about a possible wrist re-aggravation all year, though.
