The Pirates have kind of been that team for a long time as well, way too much money tied up in cruddy guys like when they signed Mesa to be the closer instead of just filtering young guys through to make them trade targets etc.

May point on the tanking, (I do not really think the Astros are tanking, though I would not be shocked), is that while you are developing the youngsters, delaying service time, and avoiding long term contracts, you are also improving your draft position.

Alfredo Aceves gives up a three run bomb to Vernon Wells of all people and creates a save situation for Hanrahan. :-b

Well I have been saying for over a year now that Aceves is awful so I guess that one makes sense. If it wasn't a 3 run lead I'd assume Hanrahan will blow it but he will probably only give up 1 run. Nothing like your 4th best RP being the guy you go to in the 9th.

They finish slow too. The Mets are just primed to go undefeated. Accept it.

Jhoulys Chacin vs SD could be the best available spot start for the rest of the week.

Anyone versus the Astros is always the best spot start.

Dexter Fowler apparently loves facing John Axford. I got him for just $1 in two separate drafts this season. Loving it so far.
