DL Stash? WHIR

Postby BronXBombers51 » Wed Apr 03, 2013 9:28 am

12 Teams - $100 Yahoo Pro League - 5x5 Rotisserie

C- Mike Napoli
1B- Joey Votto
2B- Ian Kinsler
3B- Trevor Plouffe
SS- Ben Zobrist
OF- Jose Bautista
OF- Matt Holliday
OF- Alex Gordon
Utl- Norichika Aoki
Utl- Starling Marte

B- Kendrys Morales
B- David Murphy
B- Brett Lawrie
DL- Mark Teixeira

SP- James Shields, Ian Kennedy, Jake Peavy, Jon Niese, Marco Estrada, Shelby Miller, Jose Fernandez

RP- Greg Holland, Jason Grilli, Kyuji Fujikawa

Adam Eaton and Matt Garza are both currently on free agency and I'm wondering if either of them are a better DL stash than Teixeira. Obviously Tex is the highest profile player of the 3 but I am quite worried (not even as a FB player, as a Yankee fan) that Tex's wrist issue is going to cause problems for him all year. My preseason projections for him were pretty low but he was there in the final round of the draft so I figured I'd take a shot. Eaton and Garza have been cut by their respective teams since then (only 1 DL spot.) Should I cut Teixeira for either of these two? Which one?

I would consider taking Eaton on, because while you have plenty of pop, your team doesn't have a ton of speed, and Eaton could provide a nice 20-30 SBs for you.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

I would be fine with Eaton as well. Not sure the Tex will have a good year even when he does get back. Garza just has too many question marks to worry about him.
