Cespedes and Price 8 player trade--- WHIR

Postby jefferey13 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 11:30 pm

I'm in a ten team 5x5 keeper league.

I send
Cespedes (can only keep one more year)
Beltran
Morrow
Axford

I receive
Choo
Ethier
Price
Nathan

My Team
Victor Martinez, Det C, DH
Billy Butler, KC 1B, DH
Jason Kipnis, Cle 2B
Aramis Ramirez, Mil 3B
Starlin Castro, ChC SS
Troy Tulowitzki, Col SS
Matt Kemp, LAD OF
Yoenis Cespedes, Oak OF, DH
Carlos Beltran, StL OF
Norichika Aoki, Mil OF
Josh Reddick, Oak OF
Nick Markakis, Bal OF
Ichiro Suzuki, NYY OF
Wil Myers, TB OF  DTD
Jeff Keppinger, CWS 3B, 1B, 2B, DH
David Freese*, StL 3B  DL15

Clayton Kershaw, LAD SP
Mat Latos, Cin SP
Brandon Morrow, Tor SP
Tim Lincecum, SF SP
Jake Peavy, CWS SP
Matt Harvey, NYM SP
Tom Wilhelmsen, Sea RP
John Axford, Mil RP
Jason Grilli, Pit RP
Josh Beckett, LAD SP

I feel like putting price in my rotation could really lock down a solid rotation for me which right now seems just a little shaky. All the pitchers in my league were kept. I could keep Price 2 more years after this one, and I could only keep Cespedes one.

Cespedes is by far the main piece, and Beltran people like him this year but I worry about beltrans age/health so I think it's ok ur moving him.

Morrow if healthy will have a great year, his numbers have been there, just not his health

U are upgrading with price, and Nathan,

Choo is decent/solid, but to give up Beltran and cespedes u should be able to get more than that, but price is involved so I view this trade like this

Price = cespedes, price has a hard season to repeat, and cespedes could wind up as a first round talent next year
Nathan > axford
Beltran / choo kinda a wash because of health reasons
Morrow > either, he is in a nice LAD team, but is it all just hype?

I realize I haven't given a straight one sided answer, hard for me too, so I gave a break down of how I process this? Possibly compare with what others say, hope it helps though

I do think you win this trade based on value, but if Ethier doesn't stay healthy then you will def be hurt. So basically you're gonna depend on Ethier which usually isn't a safe move to make.

I think Choo is undervalued and getting Price is a big deal.

Many of the other pieces are spare parts...Axford may not even be the closer in MIL the whole year, Beltran is at the end of his career, and Morrow is a boom/bust kind of guy who has trouble staying healthy.

You're basically trading 2 years of Cespedes for 3 years of Price, with an outside shot of getting a 15-30 and 100 Runs in Choo.

Kershaw/Price...and throw in a Matt Harvey, and the top-end of your rotation projects very nicely into the future.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

I agree with this. You get Price for an extra year, and an underrated replacement for Cespedes in Choo. I'd do it.
