So I'm new to this forum, but decided to join because my friend was telling me how much you guys raved about his team. So I wanted to get on here and see what you guys thought about my team compared to his. I don't want to say whose team belongs to who, but I will say that we are in a 12 team H2H league. It's a 6x6 format with categories being on offense R,HR,RBI,AVG,SB,OPS and for pitching it is W,SV,K,ERA,WHIP,K/BB. Please let me know what you think. I'm also very happy to chime in on any Q's you may have.
Here are the teams.
C- Lucroy 1B- Butler 2B- Altuve 3B- Longoria SS- Aybar OF- Braun OF- Harper OF- A. Gordon Util.- Pence Util.- Ortiz BN - Bonifacio BN - Dom. Brown BN- D. Gordon
C- Napoli 1B- Goldschmidt 2B- B. Phillips 3B- Alvarez (while Headly on DL) SS- Tulowitzki OF- Stanton OF- Bruce OF- Bourn Util.- Melky Cabrera Util.- B. Gardner BN- Headley BN- Kubel BN- Maybin
SP- C. Lee SP- Moore RP- Janssen RP- Cishek P- Haren P- Kuroda P- Miley P- Hellickson BN- W. Rodriguez BN- S. Miller
Some of these guys will go on the DL and some waiver moves will be made to start the season, but who do you think has a better chance at winning this year? Critique the teams as well if you like. Your input is appreciated. Thanks again.

I'm just going to compare position by position. I.E. who I would rather have.
C - Lucroy vs. Napoli = Lucroy - health is an issue for Napoli. I like Lucroy better. Steadier production. Team A. 1B - Butler vs. Goldschmidt = Tie. Butler is more proven, but I'm sorta buying into Goldschmidt. Hard to say up front who wins that. Team Tie. 2B - Altuve vs. Philips = Philips. Altuve is going to be great, but if I had to choose now, I'd choose Philips. Team B. 3B - Longoria vs. Alvarez = Longoria. Not close. Don't think Alvarez is going to amount to much. Team A. SS - Aybar vs. Tulowitzki: Tulo, not close. Though a risk, health-wise, he's an All-World player when healthy. Team B. OF = tie, though I'm leary on Bruce this year, so I should like Braun/Harper/Gordon better. What the heck, I'm going Braun and co. Team A. UTIL - I don't like either combo, to be honest, but if I had to pick: Team A. BN - Team B, though close (and for the record: I don't think Dee Gordon is rosterable in a 12-team league). The trio Headley/Kubel/Maybin will --across the board-- be more helpful this year.
SP - Team A. Bumgarner and Sale are both aces this year (mark my words), whereas I have no love for Lee and Moore. RP - Team A. Putz and Chapman are on better teams and have better track records. P - Team B. I'm not at all interested in Lincecum/Burnett/Garza (though I love Kenley Jansen), and as much as I hate Haren this year, Kuroda/Miley/Hellickson are going to be more valuable. BN = Team B, but very close. I don't like Wandy (but I love Miller), and I have a healthy dose of dislike for Porcello and (above all) Masterson.
Final tally (out of 12 categories) Team A: 6 Team B: 5 Tie: 1.
Okay, I guess I have to pick the tiebreaker. Butler vs. Goldschmidt... I'm going to throw the expert analysis over board: I like Goldschmidt. Steals as an addition to sick power. That ties you guys. So... I'm of no help here *leaves through the back door*.
Catcher: Team B 1B: It's close, but I like Team B 2B: Team B 3B: Team A SS: Team B
Team B wins the infield battle.
OF: It's close, but I think I like Team B better. While Team A has the best outfielder, The depth seems to be a little more over on Team B.
SP: Both have some holes and question marks around certain players. But I am still leaning towards Team B. I like the upside with Moore & Haren, Haren could end up being a beast [not really a believer myself]. The anchor of Team B's staff being Cliff Lee with a bunch of upside pitchers I like better than Team A. Sorry, I'm just not a believer in Sale. I expect him to regress. He's never had a SP workload. That's gonna be a problem.
RP: Team A gets the win here. Chapman & Putz are a good combo to have.
Team B over has a nice combination of HRs + steals. Goldy, Tulo, StantBOMB, Bruce, Napoli and hell I'll even throw Alvarez name in there. With the addition of Bourn who I don't personally target or like, but he can carry you in the steals department & Melky & Gardner. Plus once Headley gets back you won't have to put up with Alvarez any longer.
Team A isn't a bad team. But I like my chances a little more with Team B.
C - Napoli (Team B) - More proven and should see more AB if healthy. 1B - Tie. Hard to choose between Butler and Goldy but upside lies with the latter 2B - Altuve (Team A) - I see regression in Phillips SS - Tulo (Team B) - Significant edge. 3B - Longoria (Team A) - But not by a wide margin. Longo has more talent but has often underwhelmed. OF - Braun/Harper/Gordon (Team A) - Another significant edge UTIL - Team B SP - Team B. Team A has best 2 starters but Team B much better depth RP - Team A. Chapman should save over 40, Janssen and Cishek may not save 40 between them.
Overall score Team A - 4, Team B - 4 with 1 tie. Dead even.
Thanks for the response on mine. Like the other guys said above me, it really is pretty close. But I like the players on Team A more overall. I think that the hitting on Team A is superior, and the pitching is about equal I'd say.
